Are your hours flexible?

-Yes, you can use the online portal to see what options are available or you can email us to find a time that works for you.

How are the fees paid?

-We accept e-transfers, cheque, and most major credit cards. If you are using coverage through an insurance company, you will receive a receipt from us that you can submit to your insurance company to get reimbursed. If you are using NIHB/IRS this will be paid directly to us.

What are the costs?

-The costs are outlined on our services page here.

Are services covered under OHIP?

-Unfortunately counselling services are not covered under OHIP. However, many insurance companies include coverage.

What if I need to cancel?

-You will be charged a cancellation fee without cancelling with 24 hours notice. Under certain circumstances like a medical illness, family emergency, etc. the fees may be waived.

How long are the appointments?

-Individual and couples counselling sessions are 60 minutes in length. An EMDR session is 90 minutes in length.

Will you prescribe medications?

-No, only certain healthcare professions can do this. Psychotherapists and counselors cannot.

Do I have to commit to a certain amount of sessions?

-No, sometimes people feel better after one session and sometimes they feel they need more. The number of sessions can be determined by how you are feeling and if you decide on continuing.

I tried counselling already, why should I try again?

-Sometimes seeing a new counselor can give you an new approach that is more helpful to your needs. Also, sometimes we are not ready for things when we think we are. You may feel more motivated now or ready to take the next step in your journey.
